RELIGIUSITAS TARI SANGHYANG JARAN GADING DALAM UPACARA PIODALAN DI PURA PUSEH DESA UNGASAN KECAMATAN KUTA SELATAN KABUPATEN BADUNG
Abstract
The majority of Balinese people are Hindu, always linking artistic activities with religious rituals (Yadnya). The implementation of Yadnya for Hindus is not only in the form of ceremonies, but also uses works of art (sacred art). One of them is the Sanghyang Dance. The Sanghyang dance is used by the community as a complement to ceremonies and to ward off disease outbreaks that are hitting a village. There are several types of Sanghyang dance found in Bali, each of which has its own uniqueness and characteristics. At Puseh Temple, Ungasan Village, South Kuta District, Badung Regency, there is the Sanghyang Jaran Gading Dance. The uniqueness of the Sanghyang Jaran Gading dance makes it interesting to study the meaning contained in it.
The problem formulation that drives this research is as follows: (1) What is the sacralization process of the Sanghyang Jaran Gading dance? (2) What is the shape of the Sanghyang Jaran Gading dance? (3) What educational values are contained in the Sanghyang Jaran Gading Dance? Meanwhile, the theories used to examine this research problem are: (1) Religious Theory, (2) Aesthetic Theory (3) Value Theory.
Based on the analysis, conclusions were obtained as a result of the research, including: (1) The process of sacralization, namely, (a) The process before the Sanghyang Jaran Gading Dance performance, (b) The process of selecting dancers, (c) The process after the performance (2) The form of the Sanghyang Jaran Gading Dance, namely, (a). The structure of the Sanghyang Jaran Gading Dance, (b). The Sanghyang Jaran Gading Dance Gending, (c). The make-up and costumes of the Sanghyang Jaran Gading Dance, (d). The infrastructure of the Sanghyang Jaran Gading Dance (e). The place and time of the Sanghyang Jaran Gading Dance performance, (f). The Sanghyang Jaran Gading Dance Ritual. (3) The values contained in the Sanghyang Jaran Gading Dance, namely, (a). Tattwa Educational Values (b). Moral/Ethical Educational Values, (c). Upakara Educational Values, (d) Aesthetic Educational Values
