Publication Ethics
Background
Sustainable, Planning, and Culture (SPACE): Jurnal Perencanaan Wilayah dan Kota must ensure that the published articles meet the ethical principles of writing scientific papers. Therefore it is important to set ethical standards for authors, editors, reviewers of articles in this journal. Authors, reviewers, and editors must maintain the integrity of academic records throughout the entire publication process. Business needs must be avoided from compromising intellectual and ethical standards. Authors can refer to International Standards for Editors and Authors by COPE (Publications Ethics Committee) for policies not mentioned in this instruction.
Publication and Authorship
All people who are registered as writers must meet the authorship requirements. Authors are limited to those who have contributed significantly to the conception, design, implementation, data acquisition, data analysis, or interpretation of the manuscript. People who have participated in certain important aspects of research but do not qualify as writers must be recognized. Authorship is the responsibility of the author concerned; the writer must ensure that all suitable co-authors are included in the manuscript. The appropriate authors, on behalf of all joint authors, must submit a form (Form A) stating that they have all seen and agreed to the final version of the manuscript and have agreed to submit it for publication. Requests to add or remove authors or to arrange authors' names from manuscripts received before publication must be sent to the Chief Editor.
Duties of Authors
The Authors are required to follow the peer review process set by the SPACE Journal. The author is responsible for providing original and accurate data (no plagiarism, no fraudulent data) regarding the text entered, and for providing data when requested. Manuscripts that are sent may not be under consideration or accepted for publication elsewhere. If some data has been published elsewhere, the source must be recognized or quoted accordingly. When reproducing data from other sources, proper quotations and permissions are needed. Every potential conflict of interest must be declared, including financial, personal, or other relationships with other people or organizations that are related and can affect their work. All sources of financial support for research projects and study sponsors (if any) along with roles in research or studies, must be disclosed in the Recognition. The author is asked to be willing to publish corrections, clarifications, revocation, and apologies when needed.
Duties of Reviewer
The reviewer is asked to help improve the quality of the manuscript through an objective review process within the scheduled time, and to contribute to the decision making process on the manuscript. If reviewers and any content that is published or posted is similar to what is being reviewed, the editor must be notified. The reviewer must not have a conflict of interest regarding the research, author, and/or research funder. Every confidentiality of information provided by the editor or writer must be maintained.
Duties of Editor
The editor has full responsibility and authority to accept or reject an article. Editors should not have a conflict of interest regarding the article they received or declined. Editors must be objective and fair when carrying out their duties without discriminating against the gender, ethnicity, religion, political views, or geographical origin of the author. Editors must also accept texts based on academic achievements and without commercial influence. The anonymity of reviewers must be maintained by the editor.
